The Peking to Paris pitted the history’s finest cars against the world’s most remote and treacherous regions. From the extreme cold and thin air of the Himalayas to the sweltering heat of Iran, Bentleys, Rolls Royces and Aston Martins battled the elements in 22 countries and won. Myself and my Candide colleagues accompanied over 200 mad motorists on this 12,000-mile event, posting daily dispatches to the Discovery Channel Online and periodic radio updates to NPR’s Public Radio International. After the rally, we co-produced a documentary film for the History Channel International.
