I produced the online companion site to Democracy in the Rough, a story about the 2006 national elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The site features two briefings, one from the book In the Footsteps of Mr. Kurtz and a second FT oped on the challenges facing the DRC after the elections. An interactive map surveys the latest election results and offers details about the historic, ethnic and mineral resources of each province. Country background information is included in a photo essay which chronicles the turbulent past of this resource-rich African nation, from its colonial misrule to Mobutu Sese Seko’s reign to the current regime of Joseph Kabila. I produced the online companion site to Mixed Blessings, a documentary about the social and economic transformation of the Republic of Ireland. The site briefing features an excerpt from The Pope's Children by David McWilliams, a book which explores the phenomenal growth, eye-popping excess and frenetic pace of life in today's ROI. North and South: A Tale of Two economies examines how sectarian slogans are giving way to some new mantras -- Collaborate to Compete and North-South Makes Sense. And a photo essay chronicles the different facets of Ireland's evolution from a poor nation of devout Catholics to an urbanized, secularized society.
